The five opposition MLAs, who were involved in the alleged violent incident during budget presentation in Kerala Assembly, were on Monday suspended till the end of the ongoing Assembly session.
The MLAs had reportedly attacked the dais of the Speaker N Sakthan on March 13 during the budget presentation by Finance Minister K.M Mani. The suspended MLAs are E.P Jayarajan, K.T Jaleel, V Sivankutty, K Kunjahmed and K Ajit. The police had booked the MLAs in connection with the destruction in House caused during the incident.
The police charged them with relevant section of Prevention of Destruction of Public Property Act and IPC sections 447 (criminal trespass) and 427 (mischief causing damage).
